Our Story

Welcome To Bella Bacio

Mike Chronister, Paul Capel and Kevin Dorey opened Bella Bacio in the historic house located at 407 North 8th Street in the prominent Belle Grove neighborhood. The restaurant plays homage to the Victorian era of the building and meshes it with the fine dining we all know and love from the owners. The literal translation of Bella Bacio is “beautiful kiss”, and this menu of classic Italian dishes with an upscale flare is sure to live up to the name.

Grilled Fillet

Layers of meatballs and Italian sausage with fresh pasta, ricotta, and basil.

Pomegranate Lemon Twist

Citrus vodka, lemon, pomegranate

Fried Cheese

Hand breaded provolone with zesty sweet marinara.

What People are Saying

“Wonderful Dinner”

We had a wonderful dinner here! The basil lemon drop martini was great and we loved the stuffed mushroom appetizer we ordered. The lasagna is my favorite I’ve had anywhere in town and my husband really enjoyed the baked ziti. Our meals came with salad, bread, and olive oil. We ate everything on the table and were stuffed! We went on a date night but we noticed they have a kids menu too. I think it could serve well as either a date night or a family dinner night. We can’t wait to go back!.

“Fabulous food & flawless service”

We called about 4:00 to tell them we were coming with a group of about ten people at about 8:00 yesterday. It’s just their first week open, but they did great. Food and service were wonderful. Chef Paul came out to check on us after the food arrived. We ended up being there pretty late, but we never felt rushed. Thanks for giving us a good ending to our day. “

“Another successful experience”

We had a great experience for our first visit to Bella Bacio. The food was amazing; I ordered the mushroom ravioli & Eric ordered the tortellini alfredo, we also split an appetizer of the bruschetta from the summer menu. The staff made the meal even better by the care they put into the service. They took time to make sure all our questions were answered & that we were happy with our food and beverage choices… overall wonderful & we look forward to our next meal at Bella Bacio..

I had high expectations after reading all the great reviews and my experience exceeded all of my expectations. We ordered the toasted beef ravioli as an appetizer and I was immediately amazed at how fresh and amazing it was. I also loved that it came with a dish of freshly shredded Parmesan cheese. I ordered the lasagna and it came out as I would expect a true Italian restaurant to serve their lasagna (in a baking dish). You could see all the fresh tomatoes, chopped onion, and all the spices because it was fresh and homemade. The bread was also fresh and homemade. I also liked that the owner stopped by and genuinely wanted feedback on our experience as well as anything he could do to make our experience better. The food, staff, and atmosphere make this restaurant my few favorite and my go-to for Italian..”
